November Meeting |
Our monthly meeting will be at 7PM at the Pizza Barn on hwy 395 in Gardnerville. We'll figure out what we're going to do for November and visit, drink and eat. Hope to see you there.

sweetwater/desert creek run |
WE're heading to sweetwater or desert creek area in Smith Valley probably on Alt 95 on the way to Bridgeport. We're meeting at 9:30AM on Saturday NOv 14 at the 7-11 on hwy 395 South of Gardnerville/Minden. Right now we're lookingn for a trail leader. Glen L and I may not make it so keep an eye on future emails as to who may lead the run. The weather is going to be cold so be prepared. Plan to be gone all day as usual. Its hard to say how long we'll be gone. If there is no snow or mud it's a relatively easy run. If there is snow or mud it's much more difficult. There isn't snow or rain in the forcast as far as I know.

playing at Moon Rocks by Pyramid Lake North of Sparks/Reno |
We're going to go play at Moon Rocks by Pyramid Lake North of Sparks/Reno area. We're meeting at Bullys on Hwy 395 in North Carson for breakfast. If you don't want to eat breakfast we're leaving at 9AM. From there we'll head up 395 towards reno, get on the freeway and then head East on Hwy 80. From there we'll take Pyramid Hwy North. I can't remember the turn off of Pyramid Hwy but I will update this post for more specific directions. This area really offers something for everyone. It can be extremely difficult or easy depending on the lines you take. A lot of very extreme rigs play or even practice for rock crawling events out there. Even if you don't want to play in your rig there will be LOTS to watch as others play. It's a small area probably about 1/4 mile square. There is lots parking and may be lots of other people playing. We will probably be back later in the day since it takes about 1.5 hours or so just to get there and home.

We're going to go play at Moon Rocks by Pyramid Lake North of Sparks/Reno area. We're meeting at 8AM for breakfast at Bullys on Hwy 395 in North Carson. If you don't want to eat breakfast we're leaving at 9AM. From there we'll head up 395 towards Reno, once in Reno we'll get on the 395 freeway and then head East on Hwy 80. From there we'll take Pyramid Hwy North. After several miles we'll take a left onto Winnemuca Ranch Road. After a few miles it will turn to dirt, continue on and you'll see a turn off to the left at the end of a fence and Moon Rocks will be visible on the left. Take the left at the end of the fence and you'll arrive at Moon Rocks within 1/2 mile or so. This area really offers something for everyone. It can be extremely difficult or easy depending on the lines you take. A lot of very extreme rigs play or even practice for rock crawling events out there. Even if you don't want to play in your rig there will be LOTS to watch as others play. It's a small area probably about 1/4 mile square. There is lots parking for trucks and trailers and may be lots of other people playing. We will probably be back later in the day since it takes about 1.5 hours or so just to get there and home. It will likely be chilly so be prepared. If someone is willing to bring a motorhome or trailer it would be a nice escape from the weather or wind.
